I have a degree in education and have worked in primary schools as a full-time and a relief teacher. Currently I am pursuing a career in freelance writing. I have excellent editing, proof-reading and writing skills including spelling and grammar. I enjoy learning about the new subjects I write about.

For two years, I edited the National Hamster Council journal (UK), ran a hamster help website, managed hamster shows and judged hamsters. Editing the journal, which is monthly, helped me to write and edit articles and I enjoyed finding interesting web tidbits to include.

After that, I took on the editorship of the local magazine of the National Childbirth Trust (UK). Articles which were written for that were on the topics of pregnancy, childbirth, and the early years of parenting. I still contribute to magazines.

In 2008 I took the National Novel Writing Challenge to write 50,000 words in a month and I succeeded! I recommend it to prove to yourself that you can do it!

Update 2009 I won the Nano Challenge for a second year.
